Before I tell you just how great the 2025 workshop was, because honestly I think it is our best one yet, take it from what an attendee had to say….
“I want to send you all a heartfelt THANK YOU for putting together a workshop that was like the best bootcamp out there for elopement photography!
I honestly had low expectations going into it – but I also had VERY high expectations. It all went so far above & beyond anything I could imagine. The planning put into this was a chef’s kiss. The photo locations were epic & just as fun getting to them! I cannot wait to look at the images I took & share them. I also cannot wait to go back & go off-roading with Justin to find our own little spots & experience the desert ourselves!
I found myself in awe of what was happening, which overtook my ability to photograph & get the photos. However, I just loved taking it all in, learning from what others were doing & storing it in my brain for later. I have always learned this way especially when I can just play & try new things.
The classes were terrific – and I totally understand now why you had them all at the same time. I wish I could have taken them all, but I’m looking forward to diving into the slides now that I am home & during the slow season. I am also STOKED to be getting new gear this Black Friday & practice more star photos. I loved learning & seeing how you all get the photos!

Day 1
After everyone settled in and connected over a casual dinner, the next morning the workshop officially kicked into full swing. We started the day with breakfast and our morning education sessions. Attendees had the chance to choose from six different classes—each designed to meet them exactly where they are in their business.
That afternoon, we headed out for a half-day adventure elopement styled shoot at two incredible locations.
Our first stop was one of the most striking natural features in the area: a massive sand cave. Our inclusive model couple played in the sand while instructors rotated between demonstrating and observing—working with harsh light, shadows, and wind. Throughout the shoot, instructors offered fresh posing ideas, pointing out opportunities attendees might not have seen to help expand their creative toolkits.
From there, we made our way to a second location: the sand dunes. Our models took on an activity—sand surfing—and while we want attendees to walk away with truly epic images, we also care deeply about creating genuine memories and building real community. Naturally, we paused the shoot and let everyone take a turn sand surfing down the dunes!
We wrapped the evening with a sweet “ceremony” and “first dance,” set to the couple’s first mix CD played on an old-school CD player. Day One was an absolute hit—setting the tone and building the momentum for everything that followed.
Day 2
Day 2 started in the very early hours of the morning as we off-roaded our way to a stunning vista overlooking Lake Powell—a spot the instructors were especially excited to share with the group. We were also thrilled to bring back the original Love on Earth models from our very first workshop in Sedona, David and Amanda.
As the sun came up, attendees took turns photographing the couple, practicing posing direction, experimenting with framing, and learning how to work intentionally with the shifting morning light. From there, we made our way into a white canyon where the couple shared “vows,” giving everyone the chance to capture more unique portraits and storytelling moments.
Before we wrapped the shoot, we taught attendees how to create stop-motion photography using the models and their Bronco—an engaging way to add movement, variety, and fun to their creative skill set.
Back at the Airbnb, everyone gathered over lunch before easing into our next education block. We hosted six more classes between the instructors and ended the day with a one-hour Q&A session. This included portfolio reviews, honest conversations, and space for more vulnerable, personal questions—a powerful reminder that our businesses are human, and that no matter where we are in our journey, we all grow through community and connection.
Day 3
Day 3 is always bittersweet—the last day, the goodbyes creeping closer—but that didn’t slow us down one bit. We kicked off the morning very early, heading into a dark sky area to teach night photography. Each instructor demonstrated how they approach star photos—how we pose couples in the dark, how we choose lighting, and three different methods for illuminating a scene. The goal was simple: to give attendees the confidence and technical foundation to create dreamy, romantic star images for their own couples.
After wrapping up our astrophotography session, we made our way to Lake Powell for sunrise with our model couple. This final styled shoot gave attendees the chance to practice portraits in a brand-new location and capture the couple’s “ceremony” in the soft morning light.
In total, this year’s workshop offered three full elopement-style shoots—equivalent to marketing two 8-hour days and one 4-hour session. A massive amount of content, variety, and experience packed into a single workshop.
Once the final shoot wrapped, we gathered back at the house to relax, continue portfolio reviews, share more personal conversations, and say our “see you laters.” It was the perfect, heartfelt close to an incredible three days of growth, creativity, and community.
This year, we decided to do things a little differently.
We know from past workshops that it can feel jarring to go from three high-energy, immersive days straight into goodbye hugs and long drives home. And because building real community is one of the pillars of Love on Earth, we wanted to create a softer, more meaningful way to close out our time together.
We offered everyone the option to stay for one more night—a campout under the desert sky as friends.
We caravanned out to a set of GPS coordinates in the remote Northern Arizona wilderness, where those who stayed set up camp: some in tents, some in their RVs, and others in the back of their trucks. As the sun set, we gathered around a fire, roasted s’mores, swapped stories, and let the dust settle from the whirlwind of the past three days.
It was the most special way to officially end our time together—slow, connected, and filled with the kind of memories that remind us why community matters so much.
