Olympic National Park Workshop

A review of our 2024 Workshop

This year….we did things a little different than we have in the past and different from what you are seeing at other workshops!!! Let’s break it down……

This year we kicked off the workshop with a FULL DAY adventure elopement styled shoot. The models started the morning early getting ready with our hair and make up artist, Skagit Bridal Hair and Makeup. Once ready to go we started with first look + vow writing on the beach, from there we explored and adventured around the lake with a pause at a waterfall. We ended the full day back at the Airbnb with a private chef dinner for the models, but also for the attendees!!! We brought in local PNW chef, Miere Catering. The point of the full day styled shoot was to:

  1. Allow the photographers to capture a full day and use the gallery from it to upsell their clients.
  2. For the photographers to experience a full day elopement, to many photographers a full day is different hours for some it’s 8 and others 14 – this could help them decide how long they want their full day to be.
  3. For the photographers to get to photograph more locations + activities by putting the workshop in one day with couple.

I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for such a wonderful workshop. I felt real *community* those couple of days I was there, and that’s a rare feeling for me to experience around other photographers. But, everyone was so supportive, encouraging, helpful, kind–I could go on and on about how awesome everyone was, and how amazing all the activities were. – 2024 Attendee

Day 2 was a heavy education day!!! With the smaller group we were able to really dive into the education each person really needed for their business. We broke classes down by the three educators and did three different rounds with instructors with class topics they chose.

After education was complete we set out for a headshot swap, but what the attendees did not know is that we had a surprise for them – another couple to photograph!!

Our surprise couple met us at the house for getting ready and we headed out to a local easy access to location that offered mountain views + coastal vibes. We taught various photography techniques, pose ideas and played with lanterns. We also had a second bouquet for the details! All of our flowers were provided by Petals and Bark – which if you have not hear of them you need to check them out because is perfect for elopements on public lands.

Since it was our last meal together as a group we decided to have dinner at a yummy restaurant before heading back to the Airbnb. As the evening settled, some hung out in the hot tub chatting and other stayed inside sharing open q+a and conversation with an instructor.

Day 3 was a short day as the attendees would be leaving! We started the morning with our final break out classes and ended our time together in open q+a which became portfolio reviews!!! We said our see ya laters to everyone as they left to go home and apply all the things they had learned in building + growing their businesses!!

we would love to see you at the next workshop!
