Overview of the 2021 Photography Workshop in the Pacific Northwest

The 2021 PNW workshop was for sure one for the books. We stayed in Port Angeles in the most epic cabin, complete with a hot tub and Pacific Ocean views.

Day 1

Day one everyone checked in and said their hellos. After a great dinner, we got right to our first styled shoot! We had a local married couple model on their wedding anniversary for the group! We started with a ceremony by the water and captured some forest portraits before having the couple choose between hot tub photos or an outdoor shower.

Having a hair and make-up artist on site was so helpful for the styled shoots like this, but also for getting to know one of the vendors really well and making those connections! Following the steamy shower session, we did s’mores photos by the fire on the Airbnb property. Night one was complete and successful! We shared stories, ate charcuterie and even enjoyed the hot tub.

Day 2

Day two started off with breakfast as some attendees did some light editing from the day before. Traci started her class on how and why to do your own styled shoots. We chatted about the importance of LNT and how to follow it on your elopements and styled shoots. Furthermore, the education lead into what to do after a styled shoot and how to implement what you learn at a styled shoot into your client work flow. Following the first class, Malachi and Traci did a full-on show and tell of what they carry in their bags for an elopement day before breaking for lunch and open-ended questions.

After a short break where the attendees got to hang out, relax or work, we started capturing some getting ready photos with our next couple for the day’s styled shoot! Each attendee got their own separate time with the couple and details. We love offering alone time so you can get practice posing and get unique shots that not everyone else at the workshop will have.

Once everyone got their turn, we headed out to the coast for a ceremony and everyone took turns taking portraits along the beach at their choice of location. We ended the night playing horseshoes by the beach before heading back to dinner and going to bed.

Day 3

We started the final day with an early wake-up call at 4 am to head out for the mountain portion of our two-day shoot with the same couple from the day before! We started with portraits overlooking the mountain and ended with a styled breakfast picnic complete with cake, coffee, and scones!! We headed back to the Airbnb for Malachi’s extensive class on SEO and the importance of Google ranking, and how to get on the first page of a google search. This class is so beneficial, easy to understand, and in-depth. The information really helps to grow the visibility of your website, and gain bookings directly from there. Following the class, we shared another lunch together and open questions before everyone packed up and headed out!

It was a few days of community, getting creative learning how to shoot gifs, starry night shots with a couple, learning and growing!! We are so excited to see where these attendees take their knowledge and continue growing all together in our workshop’s Facebook group!

If you want to attend one of our workshops, our next one will be in Moab, Utah the first week of November. This workshop only has two single and/or two couples/team tickets left!!

Check out this review from one of the PNW Attendees:

“YA’LL! Stop buying tickets to massive styled shoots that aren’t even elopement based! This workshop solely dives into elopements, education surrounding elopements, and SEO! Don’t role your eyes at SEO either just because you’re Instagram has tons of engagement, do you have contingency plans to book clients incase IG goes away?? The absolute best part of this workshop is how intimate the setting is. The Washington one I attended had only 3 attendees. That makes one on one time with couples possible and the ability to chat with the instructors on personal struggles within your business! I got home and immediately signed up for the next one. SO WORTH YOUR TIME AND MONEY FOLKS!” – @nomadic_weddings
